Man Utd 2-1 Arsenal

Arsenal's poor start to the season continued and Arsene Wenger will surely berate his players for another under-par performance.
United went ahead after 5 minutes when Noah scored a neat goal with a left foot drive.
In the second half, Thomas and Lorenzo combined to make it 2-0, thanks also to an Arsenal foot.
The Gunners tried to come back and could not be faulted for effort and Nathan finally scored with a thunderbolt from 20 meters out. But Man Utd were more concrete going forward and Noah forced a great save from Zeno, though Andrew also made a string of great saves to keep the lead for United.
BEST PLAYER POINTS:
Gabriele 4, Andrew 4, Thomas 3, Lorenzo 3, Noah 2, Ramnath 1, Alfonso 1, Matteo 1, Zeno 1, Nathan 1.
YELLOW CARDS: Alfonso

Chelsea 2-1 Man City

Mourninho's men got off to a wonderful start in this year's league with a victory after a highly entertaining game.
Early on, Sam combined well with Niccolo but Sasha made a great save. The next chance fell to City but Peter too was in form and made a great save from Alessandro's well-taken free kick. Francesco R then beat the goalkeeper but hit the crossbar and Manfredi came close with a glancing header. The deadlock was finally broken when Ascanio turned well and struck a firce shaot along the ground into the bottom corner to put City in front at half time.
After just 1 minute of the second half, Sam and Niccolo combined well again and Niccolò struck a lovely shot past Sasha: 1-1 and all to play for! Sam followed up with another good shot 2 minutes later and struck the post and then, off a long clearance, Sam beat Sasha to the ball and slipped in the winner!
BEST PLAYER POINTS: Niccolo 5, Ascanio 4, Francesco R 3, Sam 3, Alessandro 2, Laith 1, Peter 1, Manfredi 1, Taro 1
YELLOW CARDS: Manfredi

Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid

Real won the first 'Classico' of the year after an energetic and enjoyable game.
The teams were locked at 0-0 at half time but, in the second half, the scoring began when Margarida put her team ahead with a well-placed shot from the left.
Barcelona reacted immediately and Giulia equalised not long after with a lob over Lucrezia in goal. The action swung first one way, then the other, and the large attendance in Ambrit Stadium was enthralled. With only minutes to go, Mia struck from midfield and her goal gave teh points to Real.
BEST PLAYER POINTS: Bea 3, Mia 3, Giulia 3, Allison 2, Lucie 1, Eilidh 1, Fatou 1, Chiara 1, Juna 1, Margarida 1, Leila 1, Grace 1, Helena 1, Eve 1

FINAL: 8T 3-3 7M

An exhilarating final swung first one way, then the other and finished in a draw: penalties tomorrow at morning break!
Gabriele opened the scoring in the first half with a well-taken goal and Sasha equalised. Gabriele scored again as 7M re-took the lead but this time it was Francesco R who equalised before the break.
In the second half, Francesco struck first and 7M hung onto their lead for most of the second half. But then, with only minutes left, Francesco R made an excellent run from the back and passed to Sasha on the left wing. Sasha looked up, picked his spot and hit it with stunning accuracy! 3-3. 7M had a couple of chances to wrap up the game towards the end but they spurned them and face another penalty shoot-out tomorrow.

BREAKING NEWS ------8T are this year's C H A M P I O N S having won the penalty shoot out!!!!!

7M 0-0 6D

7M reached the final after a 0-0 draw followed a penalty shoot-out against an unlucky 6D.

6A 1-2 8T

An early goal by Noah and a late goal by Sasha sandwiched a spectacular equaliser struck by Manfredi from halfway and spared the blushes for g8's last surviving representatives.
A brave but ultimately futile effort by the sixth graders: well done to all but particularly to Giulia in defence who was really on form today.

8V 1-4 7M

Gabriele and Edo P ran riot in the first half and their older opponents were powerless to stop them. Gabriele scored the first goal, finishing off a slick passing move when Edo played him in. The roles were reversed for the second goal when Edo acored from a Gabriele pass. Francesco C meanwhile controlled the midfield and Pietu patrolled the defence. 8V had a brief glimmer of hope when Nicholas pulled one back but the hope was quickly snuffed out with a goal from FRANCESCO.
7M continued to dominate through the second half and Edo completed his hat-trick.

8C 1-2 6D

Ambrit underestimated 6D - and the threat posed by Nathan in particular - and paid the price. A scoreless first half was full of warnings for 8C but they were lulled into a false sense of security when Michael's shot struck the crossbar.
Early in the second half though, Nathan shook them up with a cooly-taken first goal. Matilde was a rock in defence and 8C's poorly-coordinated attacks often foundered there. Nathan struck again 5 minutes later and, though they battled to the end, Guerrino's last-gasp strike was meagre consolation.

8T 3-0 7P

8T strolled to a relatively comfortable win over 7P. A classy early, second-half goal from Sasha set them up and Noah added two more. With Ramnath in goal, Jaan supporting the attack, Francesco in a holding role and a host of good defenders (Martina, Celeste, Valentina, Nikos), 8T look like strong challengers for the coveted crown of Homeroom Champions.

6A 4-2 6M

6M got off to a fantastic start and looked set to emulate last year's winners when Lapo used all his skill and expertise to score two goals.
Late in the first half, Alessandro pulled one back but 6M led 2-1 at half time.
Alessandro turned provider in the second half when he curled in a lovely left-footed cross and Manfredi rose at the far post to head in an equaliser.
6A pressed forward and 6M were on the ropes. When they cleared another ball out of defence, Mia intercepted it and launched a beautiful volley over Giuseppe's head and into the far corner: 3-2.
A fourth goal from Manfredi sealed the victory.
