ANSPI: what a comeback!!!! Regina Pacis 7-7 Ambrit

Ambrit was unprepared for the small field used against Regina Pacis Monteverde. Our 2 man defense could do nothing against the early shots to our goal and, by the end of the first half, Regina Pacis was leading by 6-0.
Only in the second half did Ambrit understand how to push through the small field to the opposition goal.
Elias was the first to score off a rebound shot from pietro 6-1. A great corner kick from Filippo saw Pietro make it 6-2 and not long after, a throw in again by Filippo to Pietro made it 6-3.
From defense Alessandro saw an opportunity to score and shot directly to the goal, 6-4. Ambrit pushed hard and another throw in from Filippo to Pietro brought the score to 6-5.
Regina Pacis, stunned by Ambrit's comeback, tried to score but Eric was making save after save. Pietro then shot from midfield for 6-6!  And again... we are up 7-6!!
Right before the whistle, Regina Pacis was handed a penalty kick which Eric almost saved but the game ended 7-7.
Team - Pietro, Filippo, Joel, Giacomo, Elias, Alessandro, Ludovico, Eric

BOYS SOCCER: Ambrit G6 - Southlands 5-2

Ambrit had a great game Saturday against Souhlands.
Jacopo scored our first goal, taking a pass from Julian in midfield. A shot from Julian saw Sam get in for the rebound: 2-0.
Jacopo returned the favor to Julian with an assist for another great goal 3-0. Soon after, Julian took another assist from Alioune and scored the fourth.
We started the second half tired and Southlands was able to to score their first goal with fresh players. A distracted defense was again unprepared for the second goal from southlands 4-2. Great team work from Ambrit though as the midfield dropped back to help in defense, and then Jacopo dribbled through the midfield to find Julian for the shot. Ending the game 5-2!
TEAM: Max; Alessandro, Elias, Jacopo, Sam, Alioune, Julian

BOYS' FINAL: Lazio 4-1 Roma

Lazio confirmed their status as hot favourites for the 2017 Spring IM title with a 4-1 victory over derby rivals Roma.
Francesco, surprisingly deployed up front in the first half by a shrewd Thomas, justified his captain's selection with the opening goal. It was no more than Lazio deserved, having dominated the opening exchanges and they led the tie 1-0 at half time.
Roma, however, fought back early in the 2nd half.
Without Niccolo', and with Taro playing in defense, the burden of creating some chances up front fell on Edo J. After 5' he delivered, turning past his marker and squeezing the ball past Ale Z with the help of a deflection.
Now both sides had chances. Alioune shot high over the bar for Roma, Thomas did the same for Lazio. But Lapo and Player of the Tournament Daniel created more chances and better chances.
Daniel's pass from the right found Manfredi and he scored, having had two earlier shots saved by Ale.
Daniel then cut in from the right again and rifled a left-foot shot into the corner for 3-1 and 'Bomber' Carocci made it 4-1.
A well-contested final; a well-deserved win; compliments also to Thomas for his sporting decision to allow Ale to play in goal for Roma.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Daniel 5Elias 4, Gavyn 3, Lapo 3, Edo J 2, Francesco 2, Taro 1, Tommaso 1

THIRD PLACE FINAL: Milan 3-0 Napoli

Napoli did all the early pressing but they rarely got a shot on target and, when they did, borrowed goalkeeper Alessandro got in the way.
Milan took the lead when Peter passed to Giuseppe and his shot was deflected past Louis.
Giuseppe broke down the left flank and shot past Louis for a second goal minutes later. He added a third before half time and might have had a fourth but his firmly-struck free kick ricocheted off the crossbar.
In the second half, Napoli tried to claw their way back into the game... but to no avail. Anthony was fouled in the area but Alex hit a poor penalty and Milan's goalkeeper remained unbeaten.
BEST PLAYER POINTS: Giuseppe 7, Peter 4, Raphael 2, Federico 2, Lorenzo 2, Alex 2, Anthony 1, Jacopo 1

RISA League 20 May 2017: Ambrit finish stongly

Our first game this Saturday was with AOSR 'A'. Under heavy rain, both teams found it hard to score. It was only when Lapo took a long shot off a rebound from a corner kick and the ball bounced off an AOSR defender that e managed to go 1-0 up. Not long into the game, Alex took a similar shot from outside the goal line for 2-0. For the rest of the game Ambrit played a tight defense, not letting one goal through.

Ambrit vs St Georges 'A' was a challenging game. St George's managed to score 2 goals in the first half. Ambrit managed to push back the St George's defense and Taro opened them up with a great pass to Sam for the goal. Ambrit had a few more chances to score, especially with a shot from Pietu in midfield, but St George's managed to get another goal with a corner kick right on the whistle. The match finished 3-1.

With two back-to-back games, Ambrit now found themselves playing against a well-rested new school. New school's first goal found Ambrit's goalie unprepared when the defense pressed up. Ambrit's chance to score came when Lapo shot a free kick but great defense and fast passing by New School had us down by 2 goals in the first half. Another free kick, this time by Alex, was our main hope to score but the goalie knocked it out for a corner kick. New school managed to get another goal in and Ambrit used their last strength to keep the scoreine down.

Our last game was against St George's 'B' - a game played with ease, almost like a friendly match. Jerry from midfield dribbled through the defense line for a great opening goal, followed by a goal by Alex when Elias crossed a great ball right to his feet. Another goal from Jerry came when he took a rebound, forcing in and disturbing the goalie on a corner kick. Our fourth goal was from Sam after taking a great pass from Jerry in midfield. St George's only managed to score on the last minute ending the game 4-1 for us.

TEAM: Max, Louis; Elias, Thomas, Peter, Pietu; Alex, Sam, Jerry, Lapo; Taro.

Med Cup 2017 - Ambrit Boys

Med Cup 2017

Day 1
Wesgreen City 6-0 W
Goals - Taro 3, Gabri 2, Edo J 1
Good way to start the tournament. Easy victory which helped the team start to gel together. Taro led the scoring with a hat trick. The whole team played well and put pressure on the team from Dubai.
IS Lausanne 0-0 T
Our defence, which played well for the whole tournament, really held their line and played a great game against a team that ended up in the Elite group. We had some opportunities but just couldn’t capitalize on them.
ISSR Stockhome 0-0 T
A game that when it ended we felt that it slipped through our fingers. We took at least 10 shots on goal while our keeper never touched the ball the whole game.

HIS Treviso 0-1 L

ABS Kuwait 6-2 W
Goals - Aden 2, Federico 1, Giuseppe 1, Lapo 1, Nico 1
This was probably the game where we had the most fun the whole weekend. The team with ABS was struggling the whole tournament and we ended up playing with one or two players less on the field. Many players were able to score and Edo J had a great time subbing for Federico, our goalie, who even got on the scoreboard with a nice goal.

Berlin 1-1 T
Taro 1
An unlucky bounce of the ball off of Giuseppe’s head lead to a 1-0 first half lead for our German opponents. Taro put in the equalizer in the second half. This was another game we probably should have won. It was one of our better team efforts the whole weekend.

Day 2
AOSR  2-0 W
Taro 1, Gabri 1 (PK)
The second day started with a derby with AOSR. A game which we dominated from start to finish and could have ended with a bigger difference in goals. Taro put us on top in the first half finishing a nice team action. Gabri was able to put in a PK after Taro was fouled in the box.

Geneva 2-1 W
Gabri 2 (1 PK)
Probably the most hard fought game during our trip. This game was heated and tempers flared at times on the field. Niccolò was pulled down in the area after beating his defender. Gabri put in a PK to put us up 1-0. The Geneva team ended up tying the game with a goal on a free kick while our team was distracted. With under two minutes left in the game Gabri was able to put in a beautiful goal from Niccolò’s assist to win the game.

Marbella 1-2 L
Edo J 1
The game started off with us controlling possession and taking shots that were a little off target. The Spanish keeper played an amazing game. The second half was not our best outing. The defence uncharacteristically gave up two goals on two shots by the Swans. With a few minutes left in the game Edo J was able to put in a cross from Gabri. That goal guaranteed that we would finish in the 2nd place in our Champions league group.

Semifinal
Cairo 0-2 L
This game against the eventual Champions of our group was a tough fought game. The team from Cairo was pressured from the beginning, so much so that they moved their two best players back to help on defence. Two injuries to Aden and Gabri in the second half ended up being our downfall. We found ourselves out of position and the Egyptians were able to get two quick goals.

Day 3
Final 3th-4th
Berlin 0-1 L

THANK YOU TO COACHES MOSES and CHAD!!!!

Roma 7-3 Milan

PLAYER OF THE MATCH POINTS:
Jacopo 6, Nathan 5, Peter 4, Alioune 2, Taro 1, Niccolò 1, Raphael 1, Riccardo 1.

BOYS SF1: Lazio 1-0 Napoli

PLAYER OF THE MATCH POINTS:
Gavyn 5, Daniel 4, Alex 3, Andrea 3, AleN 2, Sam 1, Max 1, Lorenzo 1, Thomas 1, Lapo 1.

GIRLS FINAL: Man.City 1-0 Liverpool

PLAYER OF THE MATCH POINTS:
Natalie 4, Chiara 2, Lucrezia 2, Malena 2, Gaia DR 2, Juna 2, Mia 1, Selina 1.

10.5.17

Napoli 7-0 Chievo

Napoli booked their place in the semi-finals with a resounding win over Chievo, again without Lucrezia.
First half goals from Sam and Anthony (2); second half goals from Julian, Pietu, Alex and Ale.
BEST PLAYER POINTS: Alex 4, Ale 3, Allison 2, Virginia 2, Pietu 2, Chiara 2, Helena 1, Lorenzo 1, Annie 1, Sam 1, Julian 1, Anthony 1

Man. City 2-0 Liverpool

PLAYER OF THE MATCH POINTS:
Sofia 5, Gaia DR 4, Allison 3, Yara 3, Lea 2.

SGBIS MS tournament: Ambrit 4th after losing TWO penalty shoot-outs!

Ambrit's first game was versus St. Georges A.  The game started well, with Alex securing the first 2 goals within ten minutes of the Match, assisted by Lapo and Taro. In the second half, Jerry made a great pass to Taro who dribbled the goalie for 3-0. Our defense made sure that St George's had no shots at our goal.

For our second game we were up against Rome international, facing much bigger players. Alex and Taro found it difficult to get the ball past their defence. A shot from midfield then found our goalie unprepared and Rome international were one up. Ambrit responded quickly, with Taro taking shots from outside the box and Alex going in for the rebounds until we tied. A few more shots were taken by Lapo and Jerry but the game finished before we could get in another goal.

Their game: AOSR B vs Ambrit . Jerry took a rebound from a shot by Lapo straight to the goal for the 1-0. Alex saw an opportunity, charged the defense, stole the ball and made it 2-0. Great teamwork from the back saw Ambrit moving fast from defense, a pass from Thomas to Jerry and a great cross to Lapo: 3-0.  A corner kick by Alex landed right on Lapo's foot for a great shot 4-0.
Ambrit scored the fifth when the the opposing goalie came out and Alex saw another oppourtunity to shoot direct to goal. A great throw in by thomas to taro who found Alex for a great header 6-0.

The fourth game was against the much more challenging AOSR A who scored with their first chance. A great throw in from Thomas found Taro's head for the 1-1. Our chance to score came right before the whistle but Alex was unable to target the goal from far out.

Semi Final
Playing a team we had already beaten 3-0 in our first match, Ambrit thought they had it easy but a fighting St George's gave Ambrit a tough time as they were unable to score after many attempts, leading us to a penalty shoot-out. With Peter in goal. St George's mannaged to score all 3 of their penalty kicks; Ambrit scored just 2.

3rd/4th Playoff
Ambrit, who were sure they had at least secured second position, found themselves now fighting for 3rd position against New School. Alex was quick to score but new school quickly responded with a corner goal, a great header for 1-1. Both teams were exhaused from playing 5 matches and the game again went to penalties. New school saved both of our penalties and scored all of theirs, leaving Ambrit 4th place in the tournament.

TEAM: Taro, Alex Lapo, Jerry, Thomas, Peter, Pietu, Louis, Federico

Milan 5-3 Inter

Aden, Senai, Giuseppe
Despite a high quality of hat-trick goals from Edo P, Inter crashed out of the Spring IM following a 5-3 defeat at the hands of derby rivals Milan.
All of Edo'd goals were spectacular but the same has to be said of Jacopo's first goal: first to the ball, courageous and accurate.
Jacopo went on to score four goals in this game and Senai's own-goal was the fifth.

BEST PLAYER POINTS: Jacopo 7, Filippo 6, Edo P 5, Giuseppe 1, Michele 1, Senai 1,

3.5.17

Lazio 3-3 Roma

Tommy, Riccardo, Niccolo', Francesco, Taro
A typical derby with 6 goals, 5 yellow cards and a point each.
Daniel was on fire in the first half, threading nice passes to team mates and finding dangerous spaces behind the defence. it was he who opened the scoring but Taro equalised soon after with a strong run and a cool finish. Daniel hit a post just before half time but it stayed 1-1 at the break.
Rome went 2-1 up in the second half with a beautiful passing move involving Tommy, Taro, Alioune and, finally, Riccardo who slid the ball into the net.
Lazio roared back and Franesco played a good pass to Gavyn: 2-2.
Niccolo' made it 3-2 to Roma with a good strike from the left but Lazio had the last laugh and Gavyn and Daniel combined to make it 3-3.
BEST PLAYER POINTS: Daniel 6, Gavyn 4, Edo J 2, Ricky 2, Tommy 1, Taro 2, Niccolo' 1, Thomas 1, Francesco 1, Alioune 1
