Milan 2-3 Inter

A typical derby match - tense and nervous - saw Milan lose their captain, the three points and their unbeaten record.
Daniel had the best chance early on to open the scoring but he shot over the bar with only the keeper to beat. Senai made amends a couple of minutes later and put i nerazzurri 1-0 ahead.
Manfredi led Milan back into attack but was stopped the first time at the last minute by a some good defensive work from Mateo (Manfredi booked) before coming back and scoring to make it 1-1.
With play swinging quickly from end to end, it looked like either team might score. Inter had more chances but Alex and Elias were strong in defence while first Paul and then Tommy played well in goal.
Ottaviano should have put Inter ahead but then Jacopo did, finishing off a good team move with quick feet to round the keeper.
But Milan came back again and Ivan's drive and determination were rewarded with a goal: 2-2. But this game never looked likely to finish in a draw and Daniel's winner, though cruel on a Milan team playing with just 6 players and without Jerry, awarded the three points to Inter, and probably fairly. Manfredi was sent off late in the game and will miss Milan's match against Roma.

BEST PLAYER POINTS: Alex 4, Ivan 4, Senai 4, Manfredi 3, Elias EZ 3, Tommaso 1, Niccolo 1, Daniel 1

NY Bulls 2-1 Portland Timbers

PLAYER OF THE MATCH POINTS:
Allison 8, Gabeen 4, Annie 3, GaiaDR 3, Lucrezia 1, Gea 1, Anyue 1

Juventus 5-0 Roma

Without captain Lapo (injured), Roma were never in this game. Pietro opened and closed the scoring and Giuseppe nabbed a brace in between. Ricky completed the rout.

BEST PLAYER POINTS: Joel 5, Giuseppe 5, Elias 5, Taki 1, Cesare 1,  Anthony 1, Tommaso 1, Ludovico 1, Ale N 1

Lazio 3-5 Milan (Manfredi Show!)

Though weakened today by the suspension of two players, Lazio got off to a great start and fired themselves into an early two-goal lead through Giorgio and Julian.
But Milan, themselves short of players today, were rescued by their captain.
Manfredi's first goal was a scorcher, blasted in from 25 meters and unstoppable. He followed this up with two more well-placed shots and a brave header off an Alex free-kick to put Milan 4-2 up against a now-shellshocked Lazio. The biancocelesti kept trying, but attack after attack foundered on the rock that was Alex in defence.
Ivan scrambled a fifth for Milan; Cristian pulled one back.

BEST PLAYER POINTS: Manfredi 8, Alex 6, Cristian 4, Michele 1, Ivan 1, Giorgio 1

Inter 2-2 Roma

Inter dominated the game but couldn't turn possession into goals and, in the end, were lucky to rescue a point.
Tiberio made a couple of vital early saves but then made a crucial mistake when allowing his kick-out to be blocked by Niccolo', with the ball finishing up in the back of the net.
Roma woke up a little after this and managed to create a couple of chances through some good play from Tommy and Lorenzo. Tommaso was unlucky not to score when his shot crashed back off the bar.
Roma equalised late on when a good break saw Lapo in possession in midfield with options right and left. He chose the correct pass to Lorenzo wide on the right and Lorenzo banged it home.
Another good passing move from Roma two minutes later saw Ale N receive an inviting ball just outside the box and his angled drive gave the goalkeeper no chance. Unbelievably, Roma were now 2-1 up with just seconds to play... but seconds were all that Daniel needed to grab the late equaliser!

BEST PLAYER POINTS: Niccolo 6, Lorenzo 4, Gavyn 4, Tommaso 3, Daniel 2, Ottaviano 1, Alioune 1

Milan 1-1 Juventus

PLAYER OF THE MATCH POINTS:
Pietro 4, Giuseppe 4, Elias 4, Alex 3, Manfredi 2, Max 1, Paul 1.

Toronto FC 4-0 LA Galaxy

PLAYER OF THE MATCH POINTS:
Mia 7, Sofia DM 3, Natalie 2, Selina 2, Giorgia 1, Matilde 1, Clio 1, Yutong 1, Eve 1, Ameli 1, Mari 1.

Teachers 2-0 7P

Mr. Piccolo in action!
Scoring the first, setting up the second and missing at least five more chances: Mr Piccolo played a central role in today's victory over the Homeroom champions and ensured that the teachers started off the season on the right note.
With Mr Alessandro bossing the midfield and Miss Giulia making incisive runs on the right, 7P were in trouble from the start. New signing Mr Paolo stretched them on the left too and created the first chance for Mr Alessandro, whose fierce shot was somehow stopped by a shaken Senai.
It was Mr Paolo who also supplied a pinpoint cross to Mr Piccolo's head for the first goal.
7P tried to react. Lorenzo combined well with Daniel more than once but Mr Chad, Mr Matteo, Miss Randall and Miss Westelaken never really let them get close enough to trouble Mr Martin in goal.
Mr Alessandro sealed the victory with a second goal.

Homeroom Final: 8V 1-4 7P

2005: an excellent football vintage at Ambrit - homeroom champions in G6, homeroom champions in G7!
8V got off to a flying start; another well-taken headed goal from Manfredi off a Giuseppe throw-in and it looked like physical advantage might be important.
But 7P found a way back into the game when 8V conceded an indirect free kick inside the area. The ball was tapped to Gavin and he equalised.
Annie made a crucial block shortly afterwards to keep Manfredi out and, at the other end, Peter made a series of great saves, especially Ale N was played in beautifully by Lorenzo.
The next 7P attack however forced Ale Z into an own-goal and Senai and Daniel added two late goals to seal the victory!

Next Match: Wed Oct 11th, 7P versus Teachers

5.10.17

7P 4-0 6R

With a good part of last year's homeroom Champions team on board, 7P never looked like losing this one.
They made chance after chance and, after Daniel put them 1-0 up, Senai added a hat-trick to take them into tomorrow's final.
Cristian managed couple of shots and stretched Louis both times, once hitting the post. Best player on the pitch today?...Lorenzo!

4.10.17

6R 3-2 6F

Guillermo opened the scoring today but Cristian responded with a hat-trick to send 6R into tomorrow's semi-final.
With 6F leading 1-0, Giacomo made an unbelievable  save off Pietro after Cristian had played him in with a lovely pass.
Cristian's equaliser came when he received a pass from Pietro way out on the right touch line and lobbed a long shot over an out-of-position Giacomo.
Mari played Guillermo in for another chance and Guillermo made no mistake: 2-1 to 6F. But 6R pushed their way back into the game and Cristian sealed the points with two more goals.
